Biophysical profile of the child
During different stages of pregnancy, the measurement of biophysical profile of the child defers. During early pregnancy, crown rump length is measured. Just imagine an imaginary line drawn from the top most area of your baby’s head down to his buttocks. An early scan is important to determine and check for the estimated delivery date.

When the child have grown bigger. Measurements are done at different areas of the body, to maintain accuracy. This include:
- BPD – Biparietal diameter (measurement between the temples of the child’s head )
- HC– Head circumference

- AC– Abdominal circumference

AC- abdominal circumference identified just below the heart, where the fetal stomach and portal sinus can be seen.
- FL– Femur legth (length of thigh bone)
